Celebrate with a Wine and Cheese Party

I recently had the pleasure of styling a party for a very special girl, my beautiful sister Ariana! We had spotted a cute little wine and cheese book while on a shopping outing together and a lovely Parisian style cheese plate. I looked at her and she said Wine and Cheese party for my birthday. Seeing as I need no excuse for a party and I am a cheese lover I agreed. Here are some pictures from that party, I hope you enjoy them.

DIY Slate Cheeseboard
It was so simple to make this Slate cheeseboard and it only cost me about $2.00! It was perfect for this Wine and Cheese Party. I got the idea to make this from the fabulous blog Pizzazzerie.

Cheese and fruit are a perfect pairing for any party and doesn’t it look fabulous on this simple slate board?
 Baked Macaroni and Cheese Cups

I made baked macaroni and cheese cups from scratch, they were amazing. Nothing like making your own cheese sauce, yum!

Parisian plate with Brie and Fig Preserves

The lovely Parisian plate that started it all. Perfectly matched with a soft brie and fig preserves.

Herbed goat cheese pops on top of apple slices

These herbed goat cheese pops where so simple to make and elegant. You combine equal parts goat cheese and cream cheese roll it up in a mixture of fresh chopped thyme, pecans and crispy bacon. It looks lovely sitting on top of a thinly sliced apple.

Crazy Cork Cake with VINO and cork pennant

I call this the Crazy Cork Cake! I knew I wanted to use two corks to hold up a simple VINO pennant. Of course when I went to make the layers the cake had different plans and got a little lop sided on me, so we decided it looks like a cork and we left it at that. Inside where layers of devil’s food cake and white vanilla cake with whipped vanilla icing and on the outside shredded coconut flakes. It was delicious!

Birthday girl with Crazy Cork Cake
Here’s one last picture with the lovely birthday girl herself, happily posing next to her Crazy Cork Cake!
This party was simple and elegant and we all had a lovely time. Hope you get some ideas for your own Wine and Cheese party.
