Today I have the pleasure of doing a blog hop with The Twinery and My Little Shoe Box! My Little Shoe Box was generous enough to send us a large selection of gorgeous papers and stickers to work with! I fell in love with this Happy Go Lucky set immediately!
A good friend of mine recently became engaged and I thought this collection was perfect to make a wedding planner.
This project is super easy to do and here is how you can make your own wedding planner or just a cute journal! I used a regular composition notebook, and traced the dimensions of it onto the Cloud 9 from My Little Shoebox collection. Cut out two pieces rounded off for both the front and back of the notebook.
I then cut two strips in one of the coordinating patterns to use as a border near the spine of the notebook.
Then I cut 8 long pieces of The Twinery twine in Cappucino, Pink Sorbet, Lemondrop and Caribbean to coordinate with the colors of the papers. Long enough to be able to go the width of the notebook and also tie the book closed.
Next I brushed the front of the notebook with Modge Podge and laid down the strips of twine so that it was divided equally in the front and back. Then I bonded the paper to it, making sure to smooth out any bubbles. Then do the same with the long strip near the spine of the book. Once the front is dry do the same exact thing to the back of the notebook.
Then I embellished with The Happy Go Lucky kit which featured the boy and girl holding hands and walking a cute little dog as well as some number stickers to put the year on the New Story Collection which features tags that you can cut out. I chose the aqua with a chocolate circle to use with the brown number stickers.
To finish it off, I used an aqua piece of ribbon and made a tag with a scalloped punch embellished with a heart from the Happy Go Lucky Kit to be used as a book marker for the wedding planner. I am very pleased with how it turned out! Hope you liked it as well!
