Voodoo Down By The Bayou, Bird’s Party Magazine

The Fall Issue of Bird’s Party Magazine is out! We were very honored to have been asked to contribute a styled shoot for this issue and it was SO much fun to put this Voodoo Down By The Bayou Halloween party together! We love New Orleans and wanted to make this party both halloween spooky yet sophisticated. We blended the voodoo inspired burlap with the elegant black and white damask  and added a pop of color with the fun apple green elements.
Voodoo Down By The Bayou
Gorgeous black burlap wreath by Sweet Georgia Sweet and apple green fringe tassels by The Flair Exchange. The circle paper garlands were simply made by using a 3 inch whole puncher in assorted coordinating prints then taping them down the line and hanging! Super simple!
These simple carnations inside mason jars fit perfectly inside these Target find damask catch all boxes
was a last minute find on Amazon and we absolutely love him! I think he will be making
an appearance at lots of our parties!
Gin and Tonic Eyeball Jelly Shots
These Gin &Tonic Eyeball Jelly Shots were lots of fun to make and eat! I adapted a recipe from “Jelly Shot Test Kitchen” and using a domed ice cube tray was able to bring these creepy eyeballs to life! The white egg drop soup spoons are one of my all time favorite props, they’ve been used in so many ways, love them!
Dolly’s Cotton Candy Spider Floss
We were so lucky to have the sweet and adorable Krista from Dolly’s Cotton Candy, create these Spooky Couture Cups with dangling spiders filled with her delicious cotton candy!
Andrea from Print Your Party, did an amazing job at capturing what I wanted to present as far as invitations and style for this sophisticated voodoo party theme. The black and white damask with the apple green played off each other perfectly! The fun voodoo doll on the napkins, which were designed with Oh Goodie Designs, and the bottle labels for the mini green drink bottles lend some whimsy to the party as well!
Garnish Burlap Voodoo Bags with hand-stitched felt hearts
As soon as I saw these burlap bags I knew they would be perfect for this party! We hand cut and stitched a red felt heart to each bag, and pinned it with a green pin, then finished it off with a custom label from Print Your Party stating “Do That Voodoo That You Do..”
Oh Goodie Designs worked with Print Your Party to create this wonderful clear plastic cups which stated our party theme, Voodoo Down By the Bayou and also featured the recipe for our signature drink
Voodoo Swamp Juice, which by the was delish!
Burlap Topiaries by Sweet Georgia Sweet as well as the Black Burlap Wreath shown in above pictures, the perfect touch of rustic sophistication for this party.
Do from Piggy Bank Parties is an absolute artist! We asked her to please come up with a favor box and wow! Not only did she pay perfect attention to every single detail she even finished  it off with a leather style piece of string. Amazing!
Austin Sugarworks created these spooky sugar skulls for our shoot! They were so fun and were perfect in our Cafe Au Laits!
These skull edible toppers for our gluten free peanut butter and chocolate cupcakes where so beautiful no one could believe they were edible! Sugar Robot does it again!
Let’s Get This Party Started, filled Voodoo Balloon
How fun is this balloon! Jessica created three completely different themed balloons, my favorite the voodoo doll, then there was one filled with a skull and moss and then one filled with spiderwebs! We guarantee this won’t be the last filled balloon we will be working with! I absolutely loved them!
The lovely Linda from Frog Prince Cake and Cookie Design came up with these adorable Voodoo doll cookies complete with pins through their hearts. She even made me a couple of special ones as well! Then the mini voodoo doll cookies with straw holes through the heart so they could sit on our mini potion bottles were perfect!
Mandy from Waiting on Martha provided us with the perfect accessories for our Voodoo queen costume. These gorgeous skull bracelets were the perfect color and finishing touch! Gorgeous!
Oh Goodie Designs together with Print Your Party created this lovely melanine tray in the same style as our invitation and paper products. An elegant black and white damask with apple green accents and even a monogram in the center! Perfect for our spooky cocktails to sit on!
This was a super fun party to style and attend! This party was beautifully photographed by Susie from Susie Metzner Photography. All of our contributing vendors never cease to amaze me! So lucky to have gotten the opportunity to work with you all and hope everyone enjoys these photos as well as the other photos and parties featured in Bird’s Party Magazine! Happy Fall Everyone!
