When my little sister graduated law school I was of course, the one that was designated to throw a glam graduation party! I knew that it had to be elegant but also fun and not to fussy. I came up with the color palette of a soft mint and gold and some peach accents. I knew that the invitation had to be amazing and not your traditional graduation invitation. I was thinking of a modern take on subway art with some illustrations. The perfect graphic designer for this invitation was Kori, from Paper and Pigtails! I gave her my ideas and she executed them perfectly! These invitations totally set the tone for this glam graduation party!
We decided to put a few facts about the graduate and finished it off with some amazing graphics by Kori, complete with law books and the scales of justice. The shimmer paper that it was printed on made it perfect!
For the venue we decided on a Greek restaurant near where the graduation would be held. It was the a fun setting for this party and we were able to have the entire upstairs of the restaurant all to ourselves.
This was our cupcake table (please excuse the photo, not the best lighting) all dressed up. The graduate chose chocolate lavender cupcakes with honey lavender frosting. The cupcakes are from my bakery Two Prince Bakery. They were all completely gluten free and vegan, of course! These gorgeous gold cupcake crown cups where purchased from a fabulous Etsy shop BonFortune and they were even more amazing in person! The oversized confetti custom made for our colors where also purchased from an Etsy shop Misty and Me. So much fun we even threw them up in the air during the belly dancer’s performance!
The ribbon garland in our coordinating colors was a little DIY project that my sister and I worked on together. It really dressed up both our cupcake table as well as our champagne bar. Yes, you know there was a champagne bar involved!
In this case the champagne bar was a “Bubble Bar”. The sign was also a little DIY project using my Silhouette Cameo machine and some fabulous glitter paper and glitter vinyl! Totally love how it turned out! The Cheers custom cups are from Oh Goody Designs and so are the adorable mint paper straws with gold ribbon. Our guest were treated to this bubble bar which included champagne as well as Mango and Peach purees to mix in with their bubbly!
The pom topiary was also a DIY project that I made using cupcake liners in our party colors.
For the floral centerpieces, I decided on a ton of peach carnations (totally a popular flower right now) in upcycled jars which I glittered and placed inside these gorgeous antiqued wooden crates.
The lovely graduate posing in front of our sparkly gold photo backdrop flanked by clear confetti balloons! There was a belly dancer, great food and even a teary eye speech (yes by me). Sorry I don’t have more pictures but I was busy trying to be in the moment. It really was a fun glam graduation party!
